Release of QlikView 7.2 Brings Enterprise-Scale Analysis to the Desktop

Lund, Sweden – October 31, 2005 - QlikTech, Inc., today unveiled the latest release of QlikView, the firm’s innovative business analysis application. QlikView Version 7.2, a key milestone in the company’s mission to simplify analysis for everyone, allows organizations to address analysis challenges previously reserved for specialized and complex enterprise BI software.

QlikTech’s goal is to make enterprise-scale analysis capabilities practical for individuals throughout the workplace. The new release allows organizations to gain business value from analysis quickly by putting the right information in the hands of users.

What’s New

QlikView 7.2 furthers QlikTech’s vision of simplifying analysis for everyone by bringing the ease of use and simplicity of QlikView to analysis of datasets measured in billions of records and by broadening the client platforms supported by QlikView. The two major themes for the QlikView 7.2 release are:

Billion Record Scale Analysis: QlikView 7.2 allows organizations to tackle even the largest of analysis challenges while maintaining QlikView’s legendary simplicity, speed of deployment, and ease of use. QlikView 7.2 has been optimized to support analysis of billions of records of data by taking full advantage of Intel’s latest generation of standard 64-bit multi-processor platforms. QlikView utilizes all available processor power for selections and graph calculations. Every task is split across all available processors and processor cores via parallel threads. This provides a substantial performance increase when running extremely large applications, or when multiple users access server applications simultaneously. In addition, all chart calculations are now cached. Recalculating information takes only a fraction of the time of the initial calculation, radically shortening user query response times on frequently accessed analyses. Scarce computing power is now focused on only those calculations deemed uncommon or business critical.

QlikView for Everyone: QlikView 7.2 significantly expands QlikView’s supported client platforms, allowing QlikView to be deployed to more users more quickly. The QlikView Zero Footprint AJAX based client is now compatible with the Mozilla Web browser engine, allowing the use of popular browsers such as Firefox and Netscape 8 on a wide range of platforms, including Linux and Mac OS X. QlikView Java clients adds support for Sun Java version 1.3 or later.

QlikTech is leading a new class of easy-to-use, fast and flexible business analysis solutions that empower individuals to improve corporate performance and drive innovation. QlikTech’s flagship product, QlikView 7.2, extends the company’s vision of simplifying business analysis, offering solutions that can be deployed in days, where users can be trained in minutes, and where end-users have the freedom to be more creative in their analyses.

“Individual productivity and the ability to innovate are two of the most important challenges the corporate world faces,” said Anthony Deighton, vice president of marketing at QlikTech. “In today’s businesses, people require access to data – and the ability to analyze that data – to carry out their jobs and make informed decisions on a daily basis. QlikTech has responded to this drive by delivering enterprise scale analysis to the individual. QlikView 7.2 is easy to deploy and provides faster analysis than most enterprise business intelligence applications, at a fraction of the cost.”
